Earth's climate is changing at an exponential rate, especially in a coastal areas like Rhode Island. In the next 20 years, people should expect receding shorelines, flooded neighborhoods, and polluted rivers among other types of disasters. Yet, the vast majority of people are unaware of the situation or immobilized by fear or complacency. Without mobilization now, the disasters will only worsen.
Prompted by the Rhode Island Department of Health, I was tasked to develop strategic visions and solutions to aid in their Climate Change Program.I focused on Community Health and Resilience, to "develop technical assistance and statewide support for bottom-up, community-led groups to carry out planning and action to make their communities more climate resilient."
